Laurie received her Degree of Bachelor of Science Concentration in Family and Consumer Sciences from Nicholls State University in December, 1999. Her leadership and skills are evidenced by her participation in such organizations as the National and Louisiana/Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organizations, the Women’s Business Alliance, Chamber of Commerce and the Senior Networking Organization. Gallagher’s healthcare career includes experience as Medical Social Service Worker for Terrebonne General Medical Center, Social Service Worker for The Oaks of Houma, and Office Manager leading to an Administrator position at Hospice of South Louisiana. Mrs. Gallagher currently is the Administrator for H.L. Haydel Memorial Hospice. She manages a staff of 20 employees and volunteers, while overseeing the operations and business functions of the hospice.

Laurie was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana, and calls this community her home. Hospice is a calling for her as she has experienced the hospice team with her own family and close friends.
